The Institute of Organic Training and Advice (IOTA) is a professional body for trainers, advisers and other extension workers involved in organic food and farming.

IOTA has been borne out of a need for recognised standards of professional conduct on the one hand and better access to information, training and support for extension workers on the other.

Launched in 2005, IOTA is an independent organisation developed with support and funding from ADAS, Elm Farm Research Centre, Organic Centre Wales and Soil Association. IOTA is directed by Mark Measures.

IOTA is grateful for the financial contributions from Natural England and Yeo Valley Organics and the support of Abacus Organic Associates.

A register of IOTA Accredited organic advisers for farmers and others seeking advice can now be accessed here.
